Hair%20Feather%20Crimps
Apply Hair Feather using the Crimp Style

Applying Feather Hair Extensions using the crimp style will allow hair feather extensions to last for months. Feather Extension applied with crimps can be removed at any time easily but the crimp allows for a more durable hold.
  • Decide which side of your head you would like the feathers to hang from.
  • From the natural part of your hair, select some hair strands ¼ of an inch below the part. This will help to cover the crimping bead.
  • Use a clip or bobby pin to hold hair back.
  • You can travel further down from your part depending on your hair thickness and color.
  • Select enough hair so that half of the diameter of the crimp bead is filled.
  • Take the crimp bead wire and slide crimp bead onto the wire. Slide the  bead half way. Put the small section of hair through the wire before the bead, gently holding the ends of the wire so the bead does not slide off.
  • Slide the crimp bead up and pull the hair through the bead.
  • Thread your hair through the crimp bead, bringing the bead as close to the scalp as possible.
  • Choose the feathers you would like to apply to your hair and using the tail end, thread the feather's through the crimp bead so that ½ an inch of the feather is threaded through the bead.
  • Crimp the bead down with a pair of pliers.
  • Cut the excess portion of the feather above the crimp bead.
  • Your feathers are now secure in your hair and will last up to 2 to 3 months. Plume feathers can be shampooed and blow-dried.

Feather%20Metal%20Hair%20Wand
Apply Hair Feather with a Metal Hair Wand

Applying hair feathers with a metal hair wand makes it so easy to apply feather hair extensions. Instead of having to fight your hair and feathers to apply your extensions the hair feather makes it a snap.
  • Take the metal tool and slide a crimp bead down the tool.
  • Take the metal hair wand and slide it around some hair. Take at least 4-5 strands of hair.
  • Slide crimp bead up on metal hair wand and pull down on the tool. The hair will slide through the crimp bead and you will be ready to add the feathers.
  • Add up to 5 feathers and then crimp the bead.
  • Make sure the bead is secure.

How to Braid in Hair Feathers

A new technique to apply hair feathers. One can braid in diffectent lengths of hair feathers for a unique and stylish look. Braiding in hair feathers are great for use toward the bottom of your hair line behind the ear.
  • Start out with small chunk of hair to make a braid.
  • Start out by braiding hair about an inch in length.
  • Take metal hair wand or wire tool and slide crimp bead onto hair right below the braid.
  • Slide a few smaller feathers into crimp bead and close crimp bead. Make sure it is secure.
  • Push feathers to the side and continue braiding after the crimp bead. You can decide how long you want you next braid to be. Usually 1 1/2 to 2 inches looks good.
  • Repeat process with crimp bead and feathers.
  • Continue braid for the last time until you are at the very end of your hair.
  • Slide the last crimp bead onto the braid and add in feathers.
  • The short and medium feathers look good for the end of your feather braid.
  • Crimp bead and make sure everything is secure. The braid will usually last for 2 weeks.

Apply Hair Feathers to the Bangs.

Applying hair feathers to one bangs allows one to sweep hair feathers to one side of the face. By applying the hair feather to the bang the feathers are more visible yet blend into the natural hair.
  • Start by parting your bangs and pull some back with a clip or bobby pin.
  • Take the section of bang where you want to add the feather and slide in your crimp bead.
  • Next take a feather and slide it in to the crimp bead at the top of the bead. Pull up feather to match the length of your bang. it is better to cut the feather from the top so you don't loose the jagged end on the bottom of the feather.
  • Once you get your chosen length crimp the bead and make sure feather is secure.
  • You can add more feathers to other pieces of your bangs so they can be layered.
